[Tianwang: Shanxi Province 28 February 2012] China Tianwang Human Rights Center News: Nine petitioners from Chengdu were removed from Beijing under escort. Officials refuse to give them food.
This afternoon, Chengdu rights protection petitioner Zhou Chengqun, just as he was being escort out of Beijing by the authorities informed a Tianwang volunteer: “We nine are being escorted out of Beijing by the "maintain stability" personnel. The authorities are refusing to give us food while we are on the road.”
According to reports, after being detained at Jiujingzhuang in Beijing yesterday, nine people -- Zhou Chengqun, Cai Wenjin, Yang Minggui, Ceng Shaomei, and Li Tinghui -- were escorted out of Beijing by "maintain stability" personnel.
This afternoon, the car with the nine petitioners had already entered Shanxi Province but officials refused to provide food to the petitioners. They have also not informed them the next step in handling their case.
China Tianwang Human Rights Affairs Center will continue to follow further developments.
